Through her more than two decades in strategic and philanthropic planning, program management, and board development, Kate Luke has successfully cultivated and solicited major and transformational gifts. Beyond her fundraising expertise, Kate has a long history of collaboration with a diversity of stakeholders and a proven record of success and achievement leading teams in progressive and challenging business environments. She has managed every aspect of a fundraising operation including special events, annual programs, stewardship, volunteer governance, and general foundation administration. Kate’s campaign experience includes priority identification, gift table development, campaign communication development, and campaign leadership recruitment.

Prior to joining The Compass Group, Kate served as the executive director of the Inova Health System Foundation. In this role, she implemented operational excellence within the Foundation’s major gifts team. Her resume also includes senior development roles at Children’s National Medical Center (Children’s Health Foundation) and Georgetown University Medical Center’s Office of Advancement.

Kate’s volunteer experience further augments her fundraising expertise. She currently serves as a Board member for the National Capital Area Gladney Family Association.

Kate earned a Master’s degree in public health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Mary Washington College.
