About

Cathy Voeks joined Compass with extensive experience in fundraising and strategic planning in the independent school sector. Before transitioning to consulting, Cathy spent 17 years in leadership roles for private schools, executing all facets of multimillion-dollar fundraising cycles; overseeing annual fund, comprehensive, and capital campaigns; and implementing strategic plan objectives.

Most recently, Cathy served as Director of Development for Norwood School where she excelled in strategic communications, Board of Trustee relations, volunteer management, and prospect identification to exceed fundraising goals and foster a culture of philanthropy within the community. Prior to Norwood, Cathy gained results-oriented fundraising experience as the Director of Institutional Advancement for Green Hedges School, leading all development activities including a capital campaign for new facilities, and as Director of Special Projects for The Potomac School, overseeing the implementation of a $50 million campaign. Her volunteer leadership experience includes the development committee for the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington, as well as participation on two boards—one designated for student affairs and one for the Maryland/DC region—for Clemson University.

Cathy earned a Master of Education degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University.
