PAUL W. CZAMANSKE, President and CEO

Paul Czamanske founded Compass Group in 1983.   He previously worked for Ford Motor Company in a series of sales and marketing assignments and progressed through senior sales executive positions.  His career with Ford included 6 years in Europe, 3 in Cologne and 3 in London, where he served as Group Director of Northern Europe.  Mr. Czamanske’s management consulting expertise is in strategic marketing, succession planning and board room consulting.  He is a graduate of Wayne State University and also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.  Mr. Czamanske has been a member of the Institute of Management Consultants since 1985 and achieved Certified Management Consultant (CMC) status in 1988.

 

PHILIP M. NOVELL,   Senior Vice President

Phil Novell came to Compass Group after completing a successful 37 year career with Ford Motor Company.  He held a variety of key Sales and Marketing management positions around the United States.  He also served as the Ford Division General Sales Manager for 12 years and was the Executive Director of the Ford Investment Enterprises Corporation (FIECo).  He is a member of the Michigan Exposition and Fairgrounds Advisory Council.  Mr. Novell holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Michigan State University and attended advanced degree programs at Wayne State and Duke Universities.

 

DENNIS F. WILKIE,   Senior Vice President

Dennis Wilkie is an accomplished senior executive with an unusual mix of both automotive OEM and component supplier perspective garnered through operating assignments at Ford Motor Company and Motorola, Inc.  He has a demonstrated record of leadership in quality management, people skills and cross-cultural management,  In addition, he possesses a strong technical background combined with bottom line operational experience as General Manager. Mr. Wilkie holds a Bachelor and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University, a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and as a Sloan Fellow obtained an M.S.M. from MIT.    He was awarded the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award by Wayne State University in 1994 and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2000.

 

   
DAVID E. BUCHANAN, Vice President

Dave Buchanan is an seasoned human resource executive whose experience includes management succession planning and transition, organization restructuring, compensation planning, personnel development, senior executive coaching and counseling, and diversity program development. These skills were honed through numerous HR assignments at Ford Motor Company. 

Dave holds a Bachelors  in Industrial Psychology from the University of Detroit. and completed the Organization Learning Center (Core Course) at M.I.T. and received additional management education at the Ford Executive Development Center.

 

ROBERT F. HAASE,  Vice President

Bob Haase has a broad experience base and a track record of successful management endeavors in Manufacturing Operations, Product Development, Quality, Strategic Planning and Human Resource Development. Bob retired from Ford Motor Company in December 1998 with over thirty-two years in the design and manufacture of electrical and electronic components and systems. His last assignment at Ford was as Chief Engineer and Operations Director for Visteon Electronics. In this position Bob had responsibility for the product development process and for the operations of seven globally-based manufacturing plants.  During his career at Ford Bob oversaw the design and launch of numerous state-of-the-art products, the construction and launch of a major Greenfield manufacturing plant and the re-processing of several major manufacturing sites including one near Sao Paulo, Brazil where he was located for two years as Operations Director.  His later assignments were focused heavily on incorporating lean manufacturing concepts and six sigma processes throughout design and manufacturing areas where he achieved substantial improvements in quality, capability and efficiency as a result.  Since retiring from Ford, Bob has served as a consultant to a number of companies including a textile manufacturer and a major powder metal forging operation.  In both assignments he developed and implemented significant improvements in design and processing that resulted in substantial reductions in cost, cycle times, inventory and scrap.  Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Advanced Management Program of Michigan State University. He has also served on the Management Advisory Board of the Lehigh University Graduate Program in Systems Engineering.
