MICHELLE D. OLMSTED
Michelle Olmsted has 20 years experience serving in a variety of development positions of increasing responsibility in the higher education arena, establishing and advancing individual and corporate relationships. Michelle has a proven record of success in fundraising, comprehensive capital and annual campaign planning, human resources management, marketing and special event planning.
Most recently Michelle was employed as Director of Advancement for the Wayne State University Law School, where she was instrumental in creating new fundraising strategies to assist in the completion of the $30 million capital campaign initiative. She has an astute awareness of social, business, and philanthropic cultures in Southeast Michigan.
Prior to joining Wayne State University, Michelle served 10 years at Georgia State University in Atlanta initially as Director of Annual Giving, followed by her role as Campaign Director for the University’s first-ever $125 million comprehensive campaign. Before returning to her home state of Michigan, Michelle served as the Associate Director of Development and Marketing for the Athletic Department.
Michelle began her career at her alma mater, Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Communications.
Michelle is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Detroit Economic Club.
