Jim Sturtz is an experienced executive search consultant who has successfully conducted retained search engagements in a variety of automotive and non-automotive industries.  He has completed senior executive searches at the president, chief executive officer, chief operating officer, group vice president and a variety of other positions. 

Jim’s search expertise encompasses a broad range of functional activities to include engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing, finance and human resources.

Prior to joining Compass Group in 1993, Jim served as Director, College Relations for General Motors Corporation.  He was responsible for directing the national college relations program including recruitment, training/development and financial support.  He also held a number of other human resources management related positions while at General Motors. 

Jim holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Sociology from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.  He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Canadian-U.S. Business Association (CUSBA), and the Detroit Economic Club.
